Dr Adam Michael graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 2007. From here, he worked in various hospitals across Australia, and in 2011 completed his anaesthetic training through the Joint Consultative Committee of Anaesthesia (JCCA). He went on to work in the Kimberley region of WA, before returning to Queensland in order to undergo specialist training in Emergency Medicine, which he completed in 2018. He now holds a Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM).

Dr Michael works at the Bundaberg Base Hospital, the Friendly Society Private Hospital in Bundaberg and also provides sedation in dental practices. As well as clinical work in Anaesthesia and Emergency Medicine, he is involved in the training of the next generation of Doctors, both as the co-Director of Emergency Medicine Training at Bundaberg Hospital, and as a supervisor and examiner for JCCA anaesthetic trainees at Bundaberg Hospital.

As part of continuing professional development, Dr Michael both attends and presents lectures at conferences both in Australia and overseas, as well as running training courses to Emergency Medicine trainees across Australia. He is also responsible for research in the Emergency Department at Bundaberg Hospital.

Dr Michael enjoys working in a variety of roles, both in Anaesthesia and in Emergency Medicine where he is committed to excellent patient care. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing and kite surfing.
